Thanks Liz, I liked your style too :]
This piece is a personal illustration actually.
There was this strike a few of months ago and I couldn’t avoid registering… The military police was claiming a very fair salary raise and better conditions of work. The police from a state here in Brasil, Bahia, started the standstill and was followed for some others, making the violence raises. But what’s more incredible is that the own police was part of this violence, they don’t got rid of the guns to protest… There was some plans of vandalism to call attention for the protest and stuff like that… If the situation isn’t bad enough, there’s always the manipulative television here to tells just 1 side of the facts… Well, trying to summarize, there was even the army to hold the protests, and after some negotiations, the strike ended. They get deserved benefits (not much I guess), but I don’t think police strikes can be justified, even more armed ones…
Well, congratulations if you had patience enough to reach here hehehe… You won a lack of 2 minutes in you life ;]
Striking stuff Daniel. I’d like to know more of the story and who the illustration was for – was it a newspaper? Thanks for contacting me.

Thanks for taking the trouble to explain. This is what illustration does best – makes people ask questions. Images can reach over censorship
